Violin strings

I use Thomastik Spirocore (medium) violin strings.
E2 (S9 Medium / Spiral Core, Aluminium Wound)
A1 (S10 Medium / Spiral Core, Chrome Wound)
D1 (S12 Medium / Spiral Core, Chrome Wound)
G (S13 Medium / Spiral Core, Chrome Wound)

Rosin

I use rosin made by W.E. Hill & Sons, London, England.

Fiddle Pickup

I use the Kurmann SoundPost pickup system in conjunction with a microphone (usually a Shure SM58).


Greek Bouzouki

I play a 6-string Greek bouzouki hand-made by Viktor Dekavalas, Thessaloniki, Greece.

I use Greek traditional modal tuning D'-A-D.

I do not use an octave string on the low D.

Bouzouki strings

I use D'Addario guitar loop end strings for my bouzouki.
Gauges are:
D' - 11 (LE011 / Plain Steel)
A - 14 (LE014 / Plain Steel)
D - 22 (LE022w / Nickel Round Wound)

Bouzouki Pickup

I use K&K's Trinity Mini, a dual source pickup / internal mic system with a dual-channel preamp.

I use Herdim picks from Germany.


Whistles

I play whistles hand-made by John Sindt in Nyack, NY, USA.

My preferred mic is a Shure SM58.


Tuners

On stage I use the Peterson Stomp Classic strobe tuner.

Acoustically I use the Peterson StroboClip clip-on strobe tuner.
